Pick your steel, your equipment, and a target hardness. Hamon gives you the correct austenitize, soak, quench, optional cryo, and temper schedule, laid out on a timeline that glows in the real colours of hot steel. Every value is a table lookup cited to a named authority (Knife Steel Nerds, mill datasheets), so you can check the source before you heat the metal.

What it does

• Steel + equipment + target HRC → the full schedule, on-device.
• Equipment honesty. Hamon tells you when your gear can't do your steel. A forge and magnet are fine for simple carbon steel, but an alloy or stainless steel needs a controlled kiln and cryo, and Hamon says so plainly.
• Every number is sourced. No AI-generated values, ever. If a value has no citation, it isn't shown.
• Printable shop-card + built-in step timer for the forge.

Free tier includes three beginner steels — 1084, 80CrV2, and 15N20 — fully usable. A one-time $9.99 unlock ("Full Library") adds the full steel library, PDF export, and saved cards. It is a one-time purchase, not a subscription.
