Common questions
- How does Ruse work?
- Open the app and today's puzzle is already there — a single logic puzzle you solve by pure deduction. When you crack the key step, it clicks into place and the trick is revealed. There's one fresh puzzle a day, and it never repeats.
- How is each puzzle made?
- Every daily puzzle is composed on your iPhone. A built-in generator lays it out and an on-device check confirms it's solvable with exactly one answer before you ever see it. On devices with Apple Intelligence enabled, Ruse may add the day's theme and a flavor line using Apple's on-device FoundationModels — that runs on the phone too. Either way, nothing is sent to a cloud.
- Is the puzzle always solvable?
- Yes. No puzzle is ever shown unless an on-device check has proven it is solvable and has exactly one answer. If you ever feel stuck, the trick is always there to be found by deduction — and paid hints can nudge you without spoiling it.
- I missed a day. Did I break a streak?
- There is no streak to break. Ruse has no streaks, no counters, and no notifications nagging you back. Come back whenever you like — there's a fresh puzzle waiting.
- What does a subscription unlock?
- Today's puzzle is always free. Ruse Plus (weekly, annual, or a one-time lifetime unlock) adds the archive of every past puzzle, all theme packs, difficulty selection, and staged hints.
- How do I restore my purchase?
- Open Settings inside Ruse and tap "Restore Purchases." Because there is no account, restore is handled entirely by Apple via your Apple ID.
- How do I cancel my subscription?
- Go to Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions → Ruse → Cancel on your iPhone. Cancellation is handled by Apple; Ruse never asks you to cancel and respects it immediately.
- Is my data private?
- Yes. There is no account, no server, no analytics, and Ruse asks for no permissions at all. Everything stays on your iPhone. See the Privacy Policy.
