Ruse is built and operated by Hadger studio. This policy describes how Ruse handles your data. The short version: Ruse collects nothing, asks for no permissions, and nothing ever leaves your iPhone.
None. Ruse requests no location, no camera, no Photos access, no microphone, and no notification permission. There is nothing to grant when you first open the app, and nothing to decline.
Your progress on today's puzzle and, if you subscribe, your saved archive are stored locally on your device, protected by full-device encryption. None of it is ever sent to any server. There is no export to a cloud and no automatic backup to Hadger — Ruse has no servers to back up to.
Every daily puzzle is composed entirely on your iPhone. A built-in generator lays out the puzzle and an on-device check confirms it is solvable with exactly one answer before you ever see it. On devices with Apple Intelligence enabled, Ruse may use Apple's on-device FoundationModels framework to add the day's theme and a short flavor line — that runs on the phone too. No prompt, no puzzle, and no data is ever sent to any cloud model or third-party AI service. On every other device, Ruse uses its built-in composition, which is the full experience.
Ruse uses Apple's StoreKit framework for subscription and purchase verification. When you start a free trial, subscribe, buy the lifetime unlock, or restore purchases, StoreKit contacts Apple's App Store endpoints. This is Apple-controlled and unavoidable for any paid App Store app. Ruse itself initiates no other outbound network call. You can verify this with any network proxy (such as Charles or Proxyman) over a full session.
Ruse is rated 4+ and contains no objectionable content, but it is a general-audiences game, not a children's app. Ruse does not knowingly collect data from any user, including children. (It collects no data from anyone.)
Material changes will be reflected in this page's "Last updated" date. If a change ever affects what Ruse collects, the change will be announced in-app before it takes effect.
