Effective 2026. Liminal is made by Hadger (IP Shmigirilov).
Liminal has no server and no analytics. The camera is used only to capture the moment you choose to transform, and every transformation runs on your iPhone. Photos you capture or pick, the finished portals, and the one-line inscriptions are all processed and stored locally on your device. Nothing is transmitted, stored remotely, or shared by the app.
App Store purchases (Apple StoreKit). Everything else, including transformation, inscriptions, widgets, wallpapers and your gallery, works in Airplane Mode.
The only way anything leaves your iPhone is the system share sheet, when you export a card yourself. Liminal never posts, syncs or uploads on its own.
Data Not Collected. There is no account, no identifier, and no tracking of any kind.
Any portal can be deleted in the app at any time; original full-resolution captures are not retained. Deleting the app deletes everything it stored.
