Point your camera at a real place — your street, your window, your morning light, and watch it cross over. Liminal turns the moment into composed, cinematic art, entirely on your iPhone, and makes it your wallpaper, your widgets, your share card.
A camera, a darkroom, and a keepsake press in one quiet app. Nothing to type, nothing to upload, and no account to create.
The crossing
One tap. Over a few seconds your real photo transfigures: a cinematic grade blooms in, a painted style sweeps across, and a one-line inscription composed on your device types itself along the plate. The finished portal is a designed keepsake, not a raw image dump.
It lives on your phone
Set any portal as your wallpaper in one guided step.
Home Screen widgets in three sizes carry your portals; a quiet inscription line sits on the Lock Screen.
StandBy shows your portals at night.
Export a vertical share card for Stories whenever you choose.
Private by construction
Everything happens on your iPhone, and Liminal keeps working in airplane mode. Try it.
App Privacy label: Data Not Collected. The only network traffic is App Store purchases.
There is no account, no analytics layer, and no server. Your photos are transformed on your phone and stay there.
Original full-resolution captures are not retained; the app keeps only the finished portals you save.
Pricing

Questions
Does Liminal need an account?
No. There is no sign-up and no login.
Does it work offline?
Yes, completely. Transformation, inscriptions, widgets and wallpapers all work in airplane mode.
Is my photo uploaded to a server?
Never. The transformation runs on the iPhone itself. Liminal has no server to upload to.
Can it set my wallpaper automatically?
iOS does not allow any app to change the wallpaper itself. Liminal saves the finished portal to Photos and walks you through the two taps that set it.
Which iPhones are supported?
Every iPhone running iOS 26. Nothing in the core experience depends on a newer chip — the transformation, the gallery and the widgets work identically on every supported device.
