It says "this sigil is for a circle you're not in". That is the app working, not failing. The mark was written in a circle whose key you do not hold. Ask the person who sent it to add you to that circle; you exchange the key once, and every mark in it opens after that.
It says "no sigil found here". The image does not contain a readable mark. The usual cause is a screenshot of a screenshot, or an image a chat app has re-compressed several times. Ask for the original file, or for it to be sent as a document rather than a photo.
My phrase was cut off. A mark holds 145 characters, and that is the same at every tier. Paid does not buy a longer phrase.
Can I read a sigil without installing the app? No, and that is deliberate. There is no web decoder, no reader page and no API. The only way to read a mark is in SIGIL.
I hit "more tomorrow at midnight". Free includes unlimited reading of open marks, and one circle of your own with unlimited writing. Everything else counts against 13 created marks a day, which resets at midnight. Premium removes the limit.
I am getting a new phone. Export your keys first: it is free, at every tier, always. Without a key there is no recovery, because we hold nothing.
Does it work offline? Entirely. Turn on Airplane Mode and use the whole app. The only network call in SIGIL is App Store purchases.
Restore purchases: Settings → Restore Purchases. Lifetime is family-shareable.
