How it works

When your head is full, you dump it out — a quick list of worries, typed or spoken. That's the whole job. Sift then "settles" the list: overnight, or instantly when you tap "Settle now," it sorts each worry into Act (something to do), Noise (let it go), and Recurring (a theme that keeps coming back). There are no streaks, no badges, and nothing to keep up with — Sift is simply calmer to wake up to than the list you went to bed with.

Common questions

How does Sift sort my worries?

A rule-based engine and Apple's on-device intelligence read each worry on your iPhone and place it into Act, Noise, or Recurring. When a topic comes up again and again, Sift surfaces it as a recurring theme — for example, "money has come up 6 times." It is sorting and journaling, never a verdict and never medical advice.

What are the three buckets?

Act is for worries that have a concrete next step — Sift marks these so you can see what's actually actionable. Noise is for the worries that don't need anything from you; naming them as noise is often enough to let them go. Recurring collects themes that return over days and weeks, so you can notice what your mind keeps circling back to.

Does Sift record my voice?

No. Voice capture is live, on-device dictation only — your words become text on your iPhone as you speak, and no audio file is ever created or stored. You can also just type.

Is Sift therapy or a diagnosis?

No. Sift is a calm worry-sorting and journaling tool. It is not therapy, not a medical device, and it does not diagnose, treat, or claim to reduce anxiety or any condition. If you are worried about your mental health, please talk to a qualified professional.

Why does sorting look different on my older iPhone?

On devices that support Apple Intelligence, Sift uses Apple's on-device Foundation Models for richer sorting and recurring-theme detection. On older devices it falls back to a rule-based "Basic sort" — coarser, but still useful, and you can always bucket worries by hand. Capture and the calm register work exactly the same either way.

Does Sift work offline?

Yes. Everything runs on your iPhone, so capture and "Settle now" work fully in airplane mode. The only time Sift uses the network is for Apple's App Store, to start or restore a subscription.

How do I manage or cancel my subscription?

Open the Settings app on your iPhone, tap your name, then Subscriptions, and select Sift. You can also restore a previous purchase from Sift's own Settings screen.

How do I export or delete my data?

In Sift's Settings you can export all of your data as a file at any time, and "Delete all my data" wipes every worry, bucket, and insight from your device in two confirmed taps. Because everything lives only on your iPhone, deleting it removes it everywhere.

How do I request a refund?

Refunds are handled by Apple. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in, and select the Sift purchase.
