Each level is a vault of tiny bricks behind gray walls that never break. Find the way in: the gap in a ring, the mouth of a capped pipe, the rim of a cup, or the gate that opens when you break its gold key. Postern has no ads and plays offline on iPhone and iPad.
Each time a ball crosses a doorway on its way in, it splits in two. Send both through the next doorway and you have four. Get deep enough and the balls run into the hundreds.
Postern generates every level on your device from a seed, so level 37 is the same vault for every player, and so is today's Daily Vault. The wall plan decides how you get in: rings, capped pipes, cups, a maze, a spiral, walled towers, hanging bars, or a sealed vault behind a postern gate. Before release, an autopilot cleared each of the first 2,000 levels.
Bricks hide capsules, and each level rolls its own mix. Split, burst, bomb, laser and magnet work for you. Shrink and rush work against you.
Does Postern have ads? No. Postern shows no ads and needs no account, and the app collects no data.
Can I play Postern without wifi? Yes. Postern needs no connection and plays the same in airplane mode. Only buying or restoring Postern Pro talks to the App Store.
How is Postern different from other brick breakers? The bricks sit inside vaults whose gray walls you cannot break, so the game is finding the way in. Each doorway a ball crosses on its way in doubles it, and some vaults stay shut until you break a gold key.
What is the Daily Vault? One new vault a day, the same for every player. Your first run each day counts for score, and you can replay it for practice.
Is Postern free to play? Yes. Every level, every wall plan, the Daily Vault and every capsule except Ghost are free. You start each stretch of five levels with 3 lives, and once a day a Second Wind lets you continue where your last life fell.
What does Postern Pro add? Five lives per stretch, a Second Wind and an opening perk on every level, half again as many hidden capsules, unlimited scored Daily Vault runs with the archive of past days, and the Forge, which builds a vault from a sentence with Apple's on-device model. Pro also adds Ghost, a capsule that carries your balls through gray walls.
