Privacy Policy

Foray is built and operated by Hadger studio. This policy describes how Foray handles your data. The short version: Foray collects nothing, and nothing leaves your iPhone.

What Foray does not collect

How Foray uses your location

Foray reads your iPhone's location only to confirm you actually moved from where you started a round — an "are you outside" check, computed entirely on your device. Foray never gives you a target coordinate, never shows a map, never names a real place, and never looks up points of interest. Your location is held only for the duration of the active round and is then discarded; it is never stored long-term and never transmitted anywhere. If you decline the location permission, you can still play — your photos simply won't be outside-confirmed.

What stays on your iPhone

Your rounds, the quests Foray composes, and the photo souvenirs you take are all stored locally on your device, protected by full-device encryption. Any GPS metadata in a photo is stripped when Foray imports it. A photo leaves the app only if you explicitly choose to export a single keepsake to your Photos library or the share sheet — there is no automatic save and no bulk export. Nothing you do in Foray is sent to any server.

How your quests are composed

Quest composition runs entirely on your iPhone. On devices with Apple Intelligence enabled, Foray uses Apple's on-device FoundationModels framework to vary and personalise quests; on every other device, Foray uses a built-in quest library. Both run on the phone. No prompt, no quest, and no data is ever sent to any cloud model or third-party AI service.

What network calls Foray makes

Foray uses Apple's StoreKit framework for subscription and purchase verification. When you start a free trial, subscribe, buy the lifetime unlock, or restore purchases, StoreKit contacts Apple's App Store endpoints. This is Apple-controlled and unavoidable for any paid App Store app. Foray itself initiates no other outbound network call. You can verify this with any network proxy (such as Charles or Proxyman) over a full session.

Children

Foray is rated 4+ and contains no objectionable content, but it is a general-audiences game, not a children's app. Foray does not knowingly collect data from any user, including children. (It collects no data from anyone.)

A note on safety

Foray is a game that encourages you to look around your real surroundings. It never directs you to a specific place. Always mind your surroundings, respect private property, and don't enter unsafe areas. You can skip any quest you can't safely reach.

Changes to this policy

Material changes will be reflected in this page's "Last updated" date. If a change affects what Foray collects, the change will be announced in-app before it takes effect.
